I'm Mike Ruggles. Ruggles Tech is me.
A one-person technology company for small businesses around Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula. When you call, you talk to the person who did the work.
What I bring
I’ve done the physical work — construction, plumbing, controls. I know what’s behind your walls and what it takes to get a cable there, and that shapes what I recommend. Licensed and high-voltage electrical work is performed by Power Concepts, a licensed master electrician with 40 years in the trade.
On the software side, I find the places where a business is losing hours to systems that don’t talk to each other, and I build what connects them: automations, integrations, internal tools, and websites that feed the systems behind them.
I also run Opal Cap Farm, a culinary mushroom farm in a pole barn in Leelanau County. Its grow rooms run on the same kind of industrial controls and monitoring I build for other businesses. I rely on these systems every day, so I build them to be dependable.
Who I work with
Mostly small and midsize businesses around Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties: restaurants, bakeries, and wineries; manufacturers and fabrication shops; contractors and trades; medical and dental offices; and nonprofits. The common thread is an owner who knows their setup is costing them time and doesn’t have the hours to untangle it alone.
How I work
You deal with one person who knows your setup and remembers the last conversation. Every job gets a fixed price before work starts, and the number doesn’t move unless what you’re asking for does. Accounts get set up in your name, so nothing is held hostage if we ever part ways. And if I’m not the right person for something, I’ll tell you.
