Work for northern Michigan businesses
What was broken, what got built, and what changed.
9 Bean Rows · Suttons Bay, MI
A bakery website connected to the kitchen's ordering system
9 Bean Rows took wholesale orders through Orderspace, but retail customers had no way to order online, so those orders came by phone and were typed in by hand. I built a Shopify storefront fed from the same catalog, with automation carrying orders back the other way. Around 290 orders later, none have been retyped.
My own business · Opalcap Mushrooms
Controls and monitoring for a mushroom farm
Opalcap Mushrooms is mine — a culinary mushroom farm in Leelanau County. Its grow rooms run on industrial PLCs with a data layer and remote monitoring on top, the same combination that fits a production floor, a commercial kitchen, or a cold storage room.
